This year, the editors of Broadcast Engineering have developed the Engineering Excellence Award. The award recognizes innovation and quality design and construction of production and broadcast facilities. A special report containing 23 examples of leading-edge facilities from around the country follows. From RF to DVD production, these transmitter sites, TV stations and production facilities represent some of the best work of today’s top systems integrators.
Broadcast Engineering readers helped select the winners of this year’s awards. Readers were encouraged to review the facilities highlighted here.
When voting, readers considered how well the systems integrator and facility exhibited the following design and application issues:
- Originality/innovation of new or existing techniques
- Complexity of the project
- Presentation, visual attractiveness
- Meeting owner/client goals
Readers win too!
To be eligible for a free T-shirt, readers filled out the Vote Now! form. Only readers who voted will be eligible for a Broadcast Engineering t-shirt.
Votes were taken until Jan. 20, 2002. Three winning facilities/systems integrators will be announced in the April 2002 issue of Broadcast Engineering.
